Interactive Map of Car Prowls

Since my recent post on car prowls the police blotter has reported more of that kind of activity.  Here are all the prowls of the last couple of months (click for an interactive map):

Notice how the prowls are clustered together, suggesting someone’s doing a spree of prowls then getting out of dodge.

Which brings us to the single most interesting incident of all those reported above: the “recovered items” found on the same block as one of the prowls on Christmas Eve: A Mercer Island man, 60, reported finding stolen property dumped at the side of the road at 9:30 a.m. near his residence in the 4400 block of Ferncroft Road. The property belonged to victims of an Auburn car prowl. Items included a black leather brief case, prescription medication and hormone therapy patches.

Pros are at work here and they are using I-90 to their great advantage. Neighbors, let’s keep our eyes open for each other.
