Rains Send Sewage into Mercer Island Backyard

The Seattle Times says a Mercer Island backyard overflowed with sewage in this weekend’s rains. No details on where though.

UPDATE: The City put out this release:
Heavy rains saturated Western Washington over the weekend triggering some minor flooding and two landslides in Mercer Island.

Some flooding occurred in City parks and along Mercer Island roadways.

City crews worked night and day over the weekend to monitor and address rain storm related flooding and slides. City crews cleared leaves from storm drains to help prevent flooding and removed debris that washed onto the roadway at the 5500 and 5900 blocks of East Mercer Way.

King County crews were called to address a sewage overflow that occurred at one of the county lines near 97th Avenue SE on Sunday.

Two landslides affected three private residences.
