Mercer Island Farmers’ Market: WE HAVE SKILLET

Didn’t make the Farmers’ Market because of the rain? Don’t worry, I did, at the very end when the rain was mostly stopped.

Big news: Skillet, that airstream trailer with gourmet grass-fed burgers and bacon jam (yes, bacon jam!), was there. And will be there most Sundays- check their website to be sure. Capitol Hill, Fremont, SoDo… Mercer Island is clearly the next hip street-food location. Seriously folks, I never thought I’d see it here.

Not that Skillet was the only good thing cooking. Delicious cheese, especially blues, from Willapa Hills Farm out of Doty, Washington.

The friendly ladies gave samples and even held my baby while I took this picture.

There was good granola, courtesy Hooting Owl:

There was jam,

Must have been good, it was all gone by the end of the day.

great music,

Take me home, country road.

and, of course, veggies:

And it’s not even that bad in the rain. Welcome back farmers’ market!
